The aim is to provide you with all the tools you will need to reduce the risk of the spread of infections
in your workplace. Currently, the focus of everyone’s attention is on COVID-19, but there are many
other nasty viruses in circulation throughout the year too, such as Seasonal Flu, Swine Flu, Bird Flu
and Norovirus; which can make vulnerable people very unwell. Up to 8,000 people die every year in
the UK from circulating strains of Seasonal Flu and many Flu victims require ventilator support in
Exposures to Blood Borne Viruses (BBV) is a very real risk in the Beauty & Aesthetics industry and
these viruses can not only have a significant impact on the health of the individual, but also their
partners and household members.
It is important to remember that when the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted by the Government, the
virus will not have gone away. It will continue to spread, prolonging harm to the population and sadly
people will still die.
